The DDAWNY Family Committee invites families and advocates to join us for our next Virtual Family Meeting on Wednesday, June 18 from 7:00 – 8:30 PM. This month’s session will focus on an important and timely topic:

Featured Topic:
Understanding the Role of the Justice Center
How it protects people receiving services through OPWDD

We’re pleased to welcome two expert panelists from the Justice Center’s Individual and Family Support Unit:

  • Dee Levy, MSW, MPA, Director
  • Collin Read, MPA, Assistant Director

This meeting will provide valuable insights into how the Justice Center responds to concerns about care, investigates allegations of abuse or neglect, and offers resources to support individuals and families navigating the service system. You’ll learn how to make a report, what happens next, and how the Center can be a partner in ensuring safety and dignity for your loved ones.

Whether you joined us last time or are new to the group, we’d love to have you with us. These meetings are a great way to stay informed, ask questions, and connect with other families in the IDD community.

Please note: If you have a private or sensitive issue you’d like to discuss, we encourage you to follow up directly with our speakers after the meeting to maintain confidentiality.
