DD Day 2025, hosted annually by the Developmental Disabilities Alliance of Western New York (DDAWNY), brought together over 1,280 attendees in the heart of Niagara Falls to celebrate inclusion, advocacy, and the strength of the I/DD community. With more than 1,300 registered, this year’s event was one of our biggest and most inspiring yet.

Presented by Intandem, the day featured 20 engaging workshops, plus two Healthy You activities—Zumba and Karate—that kept the energy high and spirits lifted.

We were honored to welcome Keah Brown—acclaimed author, actress, journalist, and screenwriter—as our keynote speaker. Keah’s powerful words on self-love, representation, and the value of every individual moved and motivated attendees of all ages.

To ensure accessibility and participation, DDAWNY awarded 300 scholarships, valued at a total of $9,000, to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their caregivers.

A highlight of the day was recognizing six outstanding individuals and organizations whose contributions continue to uplift and empower our community:

  • Carrie MarcotteOutstanding Service Partner
  • Marc HenningLifetime Achievement
  • Rick BannerFamily/Caregiver Advocate
  • Kaylin DevealtPersonal Achievement
  • Mitch NowakowskiCommunity Partner
  • Annie MaseducaArt Logo Contest Winner

Each of these awardees reminds us of the power of compassion, advocacy, and determination.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and helped bring DD Day 2025 to life. Together, we continue to build a stronger, more inclusive Western New York for all.
