DDAWNY is proud to join organizations across New York State in signing on to a letter led by The Children’s Agenda, urging state leaders to prioritize young children with developmental delays and disabilities in the final 2026–27 State Budget.

The letter calls on Governor Hochul and legislative leaders to support critical investments in Early Intervention and preschool special education programs—systems that are proven to improve long-term outcomes for children. Despite this, thousands of families across the state are currently waiting for services they are legally entitled to receive.

Key priorities outlined in the letter include increasing provider rates to address workforce shortages, advancing system reforms, expanding inclusive child care, and ensuring sustainable funding for preschool special education programs.

DDAWNY stands with our partners in advocating for a budget that ensures all children have timely access to the supports they need to thrive.
