A newly released report and peer-reviewed journal article shed light on the lived experiences of direct support professionals (DSPs) across New York State, with a particular focus on their work experiences and economic insecurity. The findings examine challenges related to housing and food insecurity and offer important insight into the realities facing this essential frontline workforce.

Funded through the support of NYDA and NYDA member organizations, the research provides strong, data-driven evidence that can inform ongoing advocacy efforts and policy discussions focused on strengthening and stabilizing the DSP workforce.
